Getting to Tangalooma
4WD – It takes 90 minutes on the MICAT car barge departing from the Port of Brisbane (www.moretonislandadventures.com) and lands near the iconic Wrecks. Reaching the house takes another 20 minutes via a sand road.
No 4WD transport- Guests can use the Tangalooma Island Resort transport ferries that leaves the Brisbane River from Holt St, Pinkenba. You must also book a minibus to take you and your luggage from the Tangalooma Jetty to the house (www.tangalooma.com).
Getting to the Resort from the house
You can reach the resort easily from the house on sealed roads with the buggy and security key, or on the 4WD sand road to the Resort car park. The Resort is actually only 150 metres away; however, the direct staircase there down the road from the house is very steep. Otherwise, a gentler 10-minute walk on the sealed road goes to the resort.
About Moreton Island National Parks and Beaches
Moreton Island is an international gem on the doorstep of Brisbane. All you need to know about the island, its wildlife, history and other unique qualities is available on the following website.
Sleeps 8 – 10 guests, 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, From $250 – 500 per night.
4WD VEHICLES ONLY:
As Moreton Island is a sand Island (3rd largest in the world) the only vehicles that operate on the Island are 4WD.
Providing your vehicle is a 4WD, you can drive it on the island as all of the tracks on the island are built for 4WD vehicles only.
It is not recommended to bring an All-Wheel Drive vehicle across as they are too low for proper clearance of the tracks.
NO 4WD?:
If you will not be bringing a 4WD vehicle to the Island you will need to catch the Tangalooma Resort Passenger Launch which departs from Holt Street Wharf, Pinkenba and travels to the Tangalooma Resort Jetty at least twice daily. Launch transfers currently cost $80 per adult and $45 per child return for Tangalooma guests). A gated car park is available at Holt St. Wharf with parking charged at $15 per day or $60 per week. Bookings are essential. The number to call for reservations is (07) 3637 2000 or 1300 652 250 within Australia).
BRINGING A 4WD:
The MiCat vehicle and passenger Ferry from Howard Smith Drive, Lytton at the Port of Brisbane to the Tangalooma Wrecks is the only vehicle Ferry operating between Brisbane and Tangalooma so early bookings are essential – Tel (07) 3909 3333 or their website is www.moretonislandadventures.com.au.
BOND:
All bookings requrie a bond payment of either $1500.00 which is refundable upto 5 days after vacate or a valid credit card on our booking form in place of bond payment will suffice.
GUESTS NAMES FOR SECURITY:
Prior to arriving, we do require ALL guests full names, (first and last names) to be provided, as we are required as an agent to provide these details to Tangalooma Resort for security purposes. As the resort area is now closed to non resort guests, if you or your guests are not on the resort security/guests list, and are stopped by a security guard or duty manager at any time, you can be denied any access to the resort, making a horrible holiday at Tangalooma.

The dolphin feeding experience is not included in any stay at this property. The property is privately owned and therefore not in the actual resort accommodation allowing guests free dolphin feeding.
